The Beyond Brain PT mission is to educate and empower individuals with neurologic conditions and their care partners, who feel overwhelmed and exhausted, find balance and rejuvenation to lead a rewarding life.

ABOUT BEYOND BRAIN

Hi, I’m Dr. Nicole Fuller.

Physical therapist. Neurologic clinical specialist. Educator. Coach. And lifelong student of the brain, the body, behavior, and what helps people move forward.

But more than anything, I’m someone who loves helping people figure out what comes next.

Whether that’s a patient trying to understand why they’re dizzy, a clinician trying to navigate a complex case, or someone who knows they’re ready for change but isn’t quite sure where to begin.

That’s the heart of Beyond Brain.

I DIDN’T START OUT AS “THE VESTIBULAR THERAPIST.”

In PT school, vestibular rehabilitation was barely on my radar.

Like many new clinicians, I graduated feeling confident in a lot of areas.

Dizziness wasn’t one of them.

That changed when I started working in outpatient neurologic rehabilitation.

Two experienced vestibular therapists took me under their wings. They showed me how fascinating—and rewarding—this work could be.

So I watched.

I shadowed.

I asked questions.

And then I started treating them.

I saw people who walked into the clinic barely functioning begin to get their lives back.

I saw patients who had been dismissed or misunderstood finally feel heard.

And I was hooked.

THEN I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE PUZZLE.

After completing the Emory/Duke Competency-Based Vestibular Program, something clicked.

It wasn’t just about learning more diagnoses.

It was learning how to think.

And the more I learned, the more complex the patients became.

Concussion.

Vestibular migraine.

PPPD.

Functional neurological disorder.

Stroke.

Parkinson’s disease.

POTS.

Autoimmune conditions.

Cervical contributions.

Persistent dizziness that didn’t seem to fit anywhere.

These weren’t patients who could always be placed neatly into an algorithm.

They were people.

With histories.

Fear.

Goals.

Complications.

And lives outside the clinic.

And that’s when I realized:

The most effective clinicians aren’t necessarily the ones who know the most.

They’re the ones who know how to think through what is happening in front of them.

THAT BECAME MY WORK.

Over the years, I found myself constantly asking:

What matters most right now?

What information am I missing?

What’s driving this person’s symptoms?

What’s the safest next step?

What does this person actually need from me today?

I started creating checklists.

Frameworks.

Decision trees.

Teaching tools.

Mentorship programs.

Clinical education systems.

Not because I originally set out to become an educator.

Because people kept asking me for help.

And eventually, I realized I wasn’t just teaching people what to do.

I was teaching them how to think.

AND THEN I REALIZED SOMETHING ELSE.

The same skills that helped my patients navigate complicated neurological conditions were helping people in other parts of their lives, too.

As I continued my own journey into mindfulness, meditation, self-care, wellness, behavior change, and nervous-system-informed care, I became increasingly interested in the questions underneath the symptoms:

What do you actually want?

What is getting in the way?

What does your body need?

What feels possible right now?

What is one step you can take?

And I realized something I had been doing intuitively for years:

Sometimes people don’t need another person to give them all the answers.

They need someone who can help them ask better questions.

That’s where health and wellness coaching became such a natural extension of my work.

FROM TREATING SYMPTOMS TO SUPPORTING THE WHOLE PERSON.

Physical therapy taught me how to understand movement, the nervous system, and the body.

Neurologic rehabilitation taught me how to navigate complexity.

Vestibular rehabilitation taught me the power of clinical reasoning and pattern recognition.

Mentorship taught me how powerful it is to help someone believe they can do something they once thought they couldn’t.

And health and wellness coaching has given me even more tools to help people create meaningful, sustainable change.

These aren’t separate versions of me.

They’re pieces of the same philosophy.

THAT PHILOSOPHY IS SIMPLE.

You don’t have to know everything.

You need to know what matters.

You don’t need another rigid algorithm.

You need a framework that helps you adapt.

You don’t have to solve everything today.

You need to know the next meaningful step.

And you don’t have to change everything at once.

Real change happens when people feel seen, supported, capable, and connected to a reason that matters to them.

THIS IS BEYOND BRAIN.

Today, Beyond Brain has three connected paths:

EDUCATION

Helping clinicians develop stronger clinical reasoning and confidence—especially when vestibular patients don’t fit the textbook.

COACHING

Helping clinicians and individuals get unstuck, ask better questions, build self-efficacy, and turn insight into meaningful action.

WELLNESS

Supporting a whole-person approach to health, behavior change, nervous-system regulation, and sustainable wellbeing.

Different applications.

Same heart.

Helping you understand what’s happening, find clarity, and confidently take your next step.

WHY I’M BUILDING THIS

I’ve experienced the impact of helping one patient.

I’ve experienced the impact of helping one clinician.

And I’ve watched that clinician take what they learned and help patient after patient.

That’s when I realized:

My greatest impact doesn’t have to happen one person at a time.

If I can help clinicians think differently, thousands of patients can benefit.

If I can help people better understand themselves and what they need, they can carry those tools far beyond our time together.

That’s the impact I’m building toward.

THE STORY BEHIND BEYOND BRAIN

Beyond Brain started with a bigger question.

How do we help people not just function better…

but feel better, understand themselves better, and create a life that feels meaningful to them?

In 2017, I began my own personal journey into yoga, mindfulness, meditation, self-care, and whole-person wellness.

What started as a personal exploration quickly became part of how I understood my patients.

I began integrating these practices—with the support of emerging evidence around neuroplasticity, pain science, stress, and mind-body connection—into the way I approached neurologic rehabilitation.

I started seeing something that felt incredibly important:

The brain and body don’t exist in isolation from the person living inside them.

Symptoms don’t exist in a vacuum.

Neither does healing.

A person’s nervous system, beliefs, environment, stress, goals, relationships, behaviors, and sense of safety can all influence how they experience their body and how they move through the world.

And I became increasingly passionate about helping people understand that connection.

WHY I CREATED BEYOND BRAIN

I started Beyond Brain because I wanted to create a place where neuroscience, rehabilitation, wellness, and human connection could come together.

My original vision was simple:

Make a difference in the life of every person I encounter.

Not simply by treating a diagnosis.

Not simply by giving someone exercises.

But by helping people develop greater mind-body awareness, confidence, understanding, and self-efficacy so they can move toward a life of greater wellbeing and personal fulfillment.

Over time, my clinical work took me deeper and deeper into vestibular rehabilitation.

And that’s where another piece of the puzzle emerged.

THEN VESTIBULAR REHABILITATION TAUGHT ME HOW POWERFUL THIS COULD BE.

[Then continue into your existing “I didn’t start out as the vestibular therapist” story.]

And later, when we get to coaching, I would connect it back:

COACHING WASN’T A NEW DIRECTION.

It was a natural evolution.

For years, I’ve been helping people ask:

What matters to you?

What is your body telling you?

What might be getting in the way?

What feels possible right now?

What’s one step you can take?

Health and wellness coaching simply gave me more tools and a clearer framework for something I’d already been deeply passionate about.

TODAY

I’m a Board-Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist (NCS) with 14 years of experience across outpatient neurologic rehabilitation and inpatient rehabilitation.

I’ve completed advanced training in vestibular rehabilitation, concussion, Parkinson’s disease, movement disorders, brain injury, and complex neurologic conditions.

I’ve taught vestibular rehabilitation courses, mentored clinicians and graduate students, developed clinical education programs, presented to healthcare professionals, and worked with thousands of patients.

I’m also continuing my training as a health and wellness coach, bringing coaching, behavior change, mindfulness, and whole-person wellness into the work I’m building through Beyond Brain.

But the credential I’m most proud of isn’t the letters after my name.

It’s hearing:

“I feel like I can do this now.”

Whether that comes from a patient, a clinician, or a coaching client—that’s the transformation I’m after.

IF YOU’RE HERE…

Maybe you’re the clinician who has ever thought:

“I think I know what to do…but I’m not sure.”

Maybe you’re the person who’s tired of feeling like your symptoms, stress, or circumstances are running the show.

Or maybe you’re simply ready to grow and want someone who can help you slow down, think clearly, and figure out your next step.

You’re in the right place.

You don’t have to have every answer.

You don’t have to be perfect.

You don’t have to figure it all out today.

You just need to know what comes next.

And I’m here to help you find it.

Welcome to Beyond Brain.

I’m so glad you’re here.
